Rather, they're demonstrations of computer programming that anyone can enjoy. Feats of coding, visuals, and sound that bend your understanding of computers in an awesome way.

Demosplash is a celebration of this artform. We watch demos, screen new demos, and even vote on the best submissions and give away prizes! There are also independent graphics and music categories. You'll see 3D graphics on old 8-bit systems, movie-like special effects on modern PCs, and more, all rendered in realtime, often with an accompanying soundtrack, often only occupying a single floppy disk or less! We'll also have several guest speakers talking about retro hardware.
FREE for CMU students and affiliates. Heavy discount for other students.
Food (real meals) offered with attendance at a minimal charge.
