Cherry Bomb: The Return
electronic dance music from a queer, trans and Black perspective
Cherry Bomb was a monthly residency that began May 2021 at Spirit PGH (the first indoor event at Spirit after venues reopened post-pandemic) and retired April 2023. With an emphasis on electronic dance music from a Black perspective (house, techno, Jersey club, ballroom & more) and a mission to introduce Black queer and trans DJs from across the country to the Pittsburgh nightlife scene and vice-versa, Cherry Bomb brought a vibe, intention, and soundtrack to the city that was deeply lacking on a regular basis.
On March 29, 2025, after a 2 year hiatus, The MoB welcomes a superstar lineup of artists—Cherry Bomb veterans and newbies alike representing 5 cities across the US—to remind Pittsburgh of what the present (and future) of underground club music sounds like.
